AMENDED: Murder investigation launched – High Wycombe

Hello Resident,

Our Major Crime Unit has launched a murder investigation following a death in High Wycombe. 

We understand this will be of concern to the community but we do not believe there is any threat to the wider public. 

We received a report of a body being found at an address in Terry Road at around 6.45pm on Friday. Officers attended and confirmed the sad death of a 63-year-old man. The coroner has been informed but he has not been formally identified.

The man’s next of kin have also been informed and are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers. 

A 65-year-old woman from High Wycombe, who is known to the deceased man, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She remains in police custody at this time. 

We are in the early stages of a complex investigation but we are following a number of lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances.

A scene in place at the address. Members of the community will see an increased police presence while we carry out our enquiries. Please speak to a uniformed officer if you have any concerns.
